Deaf
is there a school for the deaf in brunei?
My wife and I are planning on living in brunei and we have a daughter and she’s deaf. We just need a list of schools for the deaf , and are deaf people accepted there?
I don’t know for sure if there’s a school for the deaf there, but I found a couple of resources that could help you. Dictionaries for Brunei Sign Language can be found here: http://www.japem.gov.bn/BIsyarat/Bahasa%20Isyarat.htm and here: http://www.japem.gov.bn/BIsyarat/BI_agama.htm. Since you’re moving there, hopefully you know enough of the language that you can understand those pages. Possibly they will have more information on deaf schools or deaf organizations in the country.
Another good source of information for you could be through Malaysia since they are neighbors. They do for sure have some deaf organizations, and they may be able to answer your questions more accurately.
